Indole-3-Butyric Acid (IBA) is generally used in biotechnology for the micropropagation of various plants. It is a chemical auxin which is also used in horticulture for root induction and plant development. Structurally, it is similar to natural plant hormone Indole-3-Acetic Acid. It stimulates adventitious root formation in stem, leaf cuttings, and helps in plant propagation.

As compared to other auxins, Indole-3-Butyric Acid (IBA) is more stable under temperature and light and that’s why it has become the favourite rooting agent in Liquid and Solid Culture Media formulations. In Plan Tissue Culture, it is first dissolved in solvents like ethanol or sodium hydroxide to dilute in into the required concentration. Its efficacy is regularly boosted when applied along with cytokinins such as 6-Benzyladenine (6-BAP).

In horticulture, it can be used in the form of powder, gel, or liquid states to treat plants cutting. It is generally used in ornamental woody species, fruits, and forestry plants. It induces cell division and elongation in differentiated tissues, which triggers root primordia. If applied accurately, IBA shortens the time span for root emergence and enhance the quality of root development.

In research, this compound is widely used in applications involving plant hormone signalling, stress physiology, and morphogenesis. It is a consistent tool for studies aimed at investigating auxin transport and biosynthesis to gain insights into plant developmental biology.

At mymicrolab.com, Indole-3-Butyric Acid is available in high-purity form. Mymicrolab.com reliable Indole-3-Butyric Acid supports various scientific, commercial, and industrial applications. It is also compatible with the mostly Plant Tissue Culture Media, including MS Medium.

With its highly documented effectiveness, long shelf life, and versatility in application across different methods of propagation, Indole-3-Butyric Acid is a very critical ingredient in today's plant science labs, nurseries, and biotechnology research facilities.
